Dorcas “Susie” Ormsby, from Bourbon County, runs the Meteer School, which helps poor children with special-needs. She was sentenced to 33 months in prison for stealing bingo profits that were supposed to be spent on charitable purposes.

U.S. District Judge Jennifer Coffman denied probation, arguing that it should serve as an example to prevent others from violating the law. Ormsby declared herself innocent and said she is only guilty of bad bookkeeping.

In 2000, Ormsby signed a contract with the Scott County Touchdown Club and The Fraternal Order of Police Royal Springs Lodge #59. She undertook to provide volunteers to run bingo games. In exchange, she would receive a percentage of the bingo proceeds. From 2000 to 2004, Ormsby received $130,000 of which she kept $122,000 for herself by forging signatures.

Judge Coffman also ordered Ormsby to pay $122,000 in restitution and a $10,000 fine to the government.
