Black Tie Bingo: A Stunning Victory

This past weekend, the Lifelong AIDS Alliance’s Black Tie Bingo event took place, where champagne and openhandedness flowed freely. Almost 300 socially aware people raised more than $100,000 for the local HIV/AIDS non-profit service organization. This fourth annual event was conducted by a local drag celebrity named Sylvia O’Stayformore.

Jack Mackenroth, the Proyect Runway designer, was the event’s special guest ball caller. When he was asked as to why he picked to support Lifelong among the other various worthy non-profits, he said, “It was a no-brainer. Obviously, HIV/AIDS education is a cause that is close and dear to my heart.” Mackenroth, who has told the world he is HIV positive, wants to use his recent famousness to increase consciousness and education efforts.

The Bingo game held included prizes such as first travel packages and a five-day trip to a luxurious resort. The guests were given bags of goodies as they left that contained gift-certificates, Mac lip-gloss, seasoning from El Gaucho and cupcakes.

What nicer than to play a good bingo game, chat for a bit and drink champagne while being part of such a respectable cause and raise money to help this virtuous organization.
